Berry Croissant Bake is a deliciously easy brunch dish that combines flaky croissants with fresh berries and a rich custard. This baked casserole is perfect for special occasions or weekend breakfasts, offering a sweet and fruity flavor with a creamy texture. With minimal prep and impressive results, it's a crowd-pleaser that brings together buttery, tender layers and juicy bursts of berry goodness.
Ingredients:
4 large croissants, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 cups mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
6 large eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Powdered sugar, for garnish (optional)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Spread croissant pieces evenly in the prepared dish. Sprinkle mixed berries over the croissants.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants and berries, pressing gently to soak the bread.
Let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the croissants to absorb the custard.
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
