Its luscious buttery flavor and moist texture make it a favorite for any occasion.
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup whole milk
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
Pour batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
