Ingredients:
2 cups elbow macaroni
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish
Directions:
Cook macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until melted and smooth.
Add shredded chicken and BBQ sauce to the cheese sauce and mix well.
Fold in the cooked macaroni until fully combined.
Optionally, transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes for a bubbly, golden top.
Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley before serving.
