1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
1 jar (about 16 ounces) hot fudge topping
Whipped cream (optional)
Chopped nuts or chocolate shavings (optional)
Directions:
Prepare the chocolate cake according to package instructions. Bake in a 9x13-inch pan and allow to cool completely.
Once the cake has cooled, spread the softened vanilla ice cream evenly over the top of the cake layer.
Warm the hot fudge topping slightly to make it easier to spread, then pour it evenly over the ice cream layer.
Cover the pan with plastic wrap and freeze the dessert for at least 4 hours, or until the ice cream is firm.
Before serving, optionally top with whipped cream and chopped nuts or chocolate shavings for extra texture and flavor.
Slice into bars and serve cold.
