The cream cheese creates a velvety texture, while the garlic and Italian seasoning add depth of flavor. This dish is perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner and pairs wonderfully with rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables. Its simplicity and delicious taste make it a go-to recipe for many home cooks.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
Season the Chicken: Sprinkle both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
Sear the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5–7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the cream cheese and chicken broth, stirring until the cream cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Combine and Simmer: Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10–15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top before serving. Serve the chicken with your choice of side dishes.
