Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onion and green bell pepper until softened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, garlic, and the sautéed onion and peppers. Mix gently until combined.
Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan or shape into a loaf on a baking sheet.
Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle shredded provolone cheese evenly on top.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
