Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
8 small corn or flour tortillas
Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, chopped cilantro, lime wedges
Directions:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook over medium-high heat until browned and crispy edges form, about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to promote even crisping.
Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 1-2 minutes to allow the spices to blend with the beef.
Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
