Ingredients:
For the Meatloaf:
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 large egg
½ cup milk
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
For the Brown Gravy:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or baking dish.
Bake for 60-70 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Remove from oven and let rest.
While the meatloaf bakes, prepare the brown gravy: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer, stirring frequently until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Slice the meatloaf and serve with warm brown gravy poured over the top.
