This oven-baked take on a beloved game-day favorite brings you crispy, saucy perfection with less mess. The wings are lightly coated with oil and seasoned, then baked until golden and caramelized. Smothered in a buttery-hot sauce, they hit that irresistible flavor note—tangy, spicy, and rich all at once. Ready in about 80 minutes and serving four, they’re a crowd-pleasing appetizer that pairs beautifully with cool ranch or blue cheese for contrast.
2 lb chicken wings
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp garlic powder
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
¼ cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s)
2 Tbsp honey
4 Tbsp butter
Ranch or blue cheese dressing, for serving
Carrot and celery sticks, for serving
Preheat oven to 400 °F and place a wire rack over a baking sheet. In a large bowl, toss wings with oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Arrange wings on the rack and bake for 50–60 minutes, flipping once halfway, until skin is golden and crispy.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan whisk together hot sauce and honey. Bring to a simmer, then stir in butter until melted and slightly reduced.
Transfer the baked wings to a bowl and toss thoroughly in the buffalo sauce. Return to the rack and broil on low—watch carefully—until the sauce caramelizes, about 3 minutes.
Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing and carrot and celery sticks.
