Ravi Shankar and the Beatles

Ravi Shankar once related how, in a music festival in the 60's, in front of fans who knew him through the Beatles, he began tuning up- to which the crowd cheered.

And Ravi Shankar said this is an example of Western misunderstanding of Indian music.

And I'm like, no, Ravi, you just found out what it's like to be a Beatle.

They so much as mime playing their instruments and a huge cheer comes up from the crowd.

You just found out what it's like to be a Beatle!

Sincerely,
