So, to answer this question, first: a horrible person is just a good person who has been broken.
So, we ask ourself: is this artist responsible for the words, depictions, ideas, or emotions in the artwork?
Or are they just a craftsman who has nothing to do with the words, emotions, ideas, or depictions in the work?
A craftsman can be a broken person and still be a genius craftsman.
A producer-arranger can be a broken person and still be a genius producer-arranger.
But the words are not by Diddy.
The words are by Biggie.
The song is by Biggie.
The emotion is carried mainly by Biggie's lead vocals.
If someone else, who is sane, can be responsible for carrying the emotion, crafting any words or depictions, representing any ideas, a broken person can be a genius and still create genius artwork
Because the emotions, the words, the ideas, any depictions, are being handled by someone else, someone who is still sane.
That's the scientific truth.
God loves you! Don't dwell on the darkness and crime! Hold your head up and feel the sunshine and the cool rain!
Sincerely,
David S. Annderson
P.S. But I don't blame Diddy for Diddy. Anytime a Black person in my America (2025 and earlier) commits a crime, I blame the fact that Black people grow up traumatized. They deserve our sympathy.
We can't save Diddy. We can save his future victims, but we can't save Diddy. We can still cry for him.
