Childhood is a funny thing. Everyone knows what it is, most people love it (even if in the age of CSI we're told that we're not supposed to), but we rarely understand it.
The magic of childhood is real.
The magic of waking up in a magical Christmas morning to presents left by Santa under the tree, of going forth into the mysterious woods to find fantastic things and adventures, of discovering beautiful and fantastic new things.
All that is real.
But here's the thing about children.
They're really not that different from the rest of us.
Just smaller and younger, and they don't know as much.
There is only one thing about childhood that is magical that is specific to childhood, and that is discovering things anew for the first time. And that's something that adults can still do too.
It's true.
There is nothing that is magical about childhood that should not be magical about adulthood as well, and 90% of it, just as much or even more.
The magic of waking up in a magical Christmas morning with your sweetheart to snow on the ground, of going forth into the mysterious wooded hills on your motorcycle or with a backpack to find adventure, of discovering beautiful and fantastic new things.
All these things should be magical about adulthood as well.
We just adult really, really badly in the modern world.
So go forth! Rediscover the magic of life!
For it's out there!
You just need to believe in it!
You just need to learn that it is still out there!
You need to look for it!
So go forth! Look for it!
Look for the magic in life!
God loves you!
Sincerely,
David S. Annderson
