1Z-3: Recycling is not Bad for the Earth!

These days you will sometimes come upon something on the Internet claiming that recycling is bad for the earth.

I assume that these places, assuming that they base their claims on true facts at all and not just lies, base this claim on the fact that recycling takes energy.

It's not the recycling that takes energy.

It's making something in the first place that takes energy.

It takes the same energy to make something out of something mined out of the ground that it takes to make something by recycling.

It is manufacturing something that takes energy, not recycling.

The only difference is that if you are recycling, you are not mining something out of the ground.

If you are recycling, you are not raping Mother Earth by mining stuff out of the ground unnecessarily.

In fact, if you recycle, you are using less energy.

For mining something out of the ground takes energy.

More energy that simply transporting recycling from someone's house.

And it takes energy to separate the materials from the ore.

Recycled material is already separated from the ore.

You don't have to melt down all the slag in the ore.

Only the materials you need to make the stuff.

So recycling actually saves energy.

Recycle!

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle!

If you have something you once needed but don't need anymore, and you have no reuse for it, then recycle it!

The only alternative is to mine stuff out of the ground every time you make new stuff!

God loves you!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson
