Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark, and the Gesture at the Basketball Game

If you don't know this already, LSU women's basketball player Angel Reese, a 'Black' woman, has been criticized by people on TV or something for a taunting gesture- a very minor one- that her 'white' opponent was praised for making earlier in the series.

I have this to say.

Caitlin Clark, who the gesture was taunting, is on Angel Reese's side.

It was a very minor gesture.  Nothing severe like raising the middle finger.

It should not have been criticized.

Things like that are part of the game.

But really, whether it was tasteful or not, there should not be a double standard.

When Caitlin Clark used the same gesture it was praised.

And quite frankly, I hate anti-'white' racism.    I am 'white' myself.

But if there is a double standard, it should favor Blacks, because fair's fair, Black people have seen more of their share of hard knocks.

Better for there to be no double standard at all.

But if there is a double standard, it should favor the disadvantaged.

If there is a double standard, it should favor Blacks.

Most of all, though, there should not be a double standard.

We should be consistent.

But I just wanted to put my three cents in.

Which is that even though I hate anti-'white' racism, as a 'white' person I think that if there ever were a double standard in society that it should favor Blacks and not whites.

Fair's fair.  Blacks have taken more than their share of hard knocks in history.

Just wanted to put that out there!

And I'm glad to see so many people rallying to support Angel Reese!

God loves you!  No matter what the color of your skin!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson
