And now... The Wisdom of the Trolls movie

"And whosoever, Ananda, either now or when I am dead, shall be a lamp onto themselves, and a refuge onto themselves, shall betake themselves to no external refuge, but, holding fast to Truth as their lamp,... shall not look for refuge to anyone besides themselves- it is they... who shall reach the topmost height!"- The Buddha

In Dreamwork's Trolls movie, Princess Poppy teaches us that we should not look to outside things for happiness, but that it is found only in our own hearts, that it is within ourselves- and that we can help someone find that happiness in their own hearts, that we can help.

This is one of the wisest movies ever made.

It is especially appropriate that the movie presents the message in terms of childlike innocence, for it is those still holding on to innocence that are most likely to learn the message and trust it.

One of the wisest movies ever made, and a movie for us all to learn from, not just children.

The Buddha, Lao-tzu, Chuang-tzu and the Roman and Greek Stoics (Like Seneca and Marcus Aurelius) all taught that we must find happiness in our own hearts.

That we must rely on what is within ourselves, and not on outside things beyond our control.

Dreamwork's Trolls movie teaches this as effectively as any of them.

God loves you!

Sincerely,
