And this is why I believe in the miracle of the Eucharist

Some people believe that the bread and the wine in the Eucharist in Christian church services (also known as Communion in some churches) magically transforms into the body and blood of Christ.

That seems like a silly idea. The bread and wine somehow magically transforms?

Of course, God can do that. He's God.

No. The bread and wine is not magically changed.

It's a recognition of what the bread and wine already are!

Everything in the Universe is Jesus's blood and body. Jesus's blood and body flow through every little thing in the Universe.

Especially something that is not only harmless but actually helpful.

Let alone the food and drink that sustains our very life!

That's how God's magic works.

The magic was always there. Everywhere. Everywhere in the Universe.

The bread and wine always were the body and blood of Jesus. Because everything in the Universe is the body and blood of Jesus.

Especially the harmless and helpful things.

And the very food and drink that sustains our very life certainly always was the body and blood of Jesus!

It's just a matter of recognizing what is already there.

That's the miracle of the Eucharist.

Recognizing that the magic of God is behind everything in the universe.

Recognizing the magic of God that was already there all along.

The bread and wine was always the body and blood of Christ.

All things in the Universe are- especially the harmless and helpful things that God sends us to sustain us.

And that recognition is important.

That bread and wine always was the body and blood of Christ.

But that we now recognize- we now know in our mind- that it is makes all the difference where we are concerned!

It makes a huge difference that we know this and recognize it in our mind!

And if the body and blood of Christ flows through the entire universe, and the very food and drink that sustains us... it flows through us too!

But we must recognize this too in our mind before we can feel it!

So next time you sit down to eat, be thankful and think- that food is the body of Christ. And that drink is the blood of Christ.

They always were. It's just a matter of recognizing it.

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson

PS And the bad things in the Universe? They're just nightmares. They come, and they go, and they pass. If you ignore them, they become an illusion and they can't hurt you. That's the God in them. They're just an illusion that can't hurt you.
