Big Brother and the Holding Company Cheap Thrills

One of the great albums of all time.

I love Janis Joplin. One of the greats. One of the legends. One of a kind.

But...

200 years from now Big Brother and the Holding Company will be remembered as much for James Gurley as Janis Joplin. And Sam Andrew as well.

You want to talk guitar?!

James Gurley- lead guitar.

There's one man who saw Jimi Hendrix play at Monterey and said, 'I'm gonna match that.'

And went out and practiced up the wazoo.

And matched that.

The greatest guitar tones I've ever heard, along with Jimi Hendrix.

Even above Clapton.

And he's not even the only guitar legend on here!

Sam Andrew has a completely different kind of sound- and the two play off each other brilliantly!

I love Janis Joplin. Janis Joplin is a friggin' genius.

But 200 years from now they will laugh at you if you suggest that there is only one legend in Big Brother and the Holding Company.

They will be known as much for their incredible guitarists- such a 2 guitar lineup as you will never see outside of the Allman Brothers or Derek and the Dominoes!

One of the great groups of all time!

And Cheap Thrills is their masterpiece.

God loves you!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson
