And this is how George Lucas borrowed from Dune

George Lucas borrowed from Frank Herbert's Dune the way Disney borrowed from Kimba the White Lion for The Lion King.

Disney borrowed the Look of Kimba the White Lion.  But the story they told had nothing to do with Kimba the White Lion.

For The Lion King is a re-telling of Shakespeare's Hamlet.

Disney borrowed the Look of Kimba the White Lion to tell the story of Hamlet

And George Lucas borrowed the Look of Frank Herbert's Dune to tell the story of Joseph Campbell's Hero of a Thousand Faces.

Just like the story of The Lion King has nothing to do with Kimba the White Lion, the story of Star Wars bears virtually no resemblence, in the slightest, to Dune, and is rather Dune's opposite, an answer to Dune.

For George Lucas is telling the story of Joseph Campbell's Hero of a Thousand Faces.

And the first person to admit being in debt to Joseph Campbell is George Lucas himself.

For Joseph Campbell must have hoped that someone as talented, thorough and deep as George Lucas would tell his story, of his hero with a thousand faces.

And that is how George Lucas borrowed from Dune.

George Lucas borrowed from Dune like Disney borrowed from Kimba the White Lion

And from Joseph Campbell how I borrow from E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

God loves you!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson
