AI Art

On my doings and goings on Deviantart, where I have my main web page where I publish my stories, I have come across references to AI art.

Art made by an artificial intelligence.

I looked it up.

This is what I think.

As I suspected, an artificial intelligence, to create art, modifies existing art.

A computer, until it is made alive to think on its own (something no science or technology can do) can not create art.

But a lens, or a telescope, can modify art.

That is what the AI is doing to create AI art.

Legally, these should be treated like photographs of paintings.

If you took a photograph of a Rembrandt painting, you would credit the painting to Rembrandt.

If you make AI art based on modifying Michaelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raphael paintings, than Michelangelo, Leonardo do Vinci, and Raphael should be credited as co-creators, and the AI art considered a collaboration.

The AI does not make art.

It only modifies existing artwork in elaborate ways.

This should be recognized.

That's what I think.

God loves you!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson
