The President of the United States is trying to ban Tik Tok in the United States.
Let's leave aside for now the fact that Tik Tok deserves a fair trial like anyone else, individual or corperation alike.
If this were a European country we would not be having this discussion.
Tik Tok does not have as bad a record as Facebook.
If Tik Tok were owned by a company based in a western European country that was a rival superpower, we would not be having this discussion.
Because if Tik Tok were owned by a western European country with just as bad- or not bad- a record since the early 1990's as China that was a rival superpower, there is no way that Tik Tok, a company with nowhere near as bad a record as Facebook, among others, would be facing this.
This is colonialist propoganda, pure and simple.
They want us to fear the Yellow Menace, just as they did back in 1890 when the british ruled China from Hong Kong.
Don't buy into the colonialist propaganda.
China is no more a menace than former Communist Poland or Romania would be if they had this much power.
And we in the West have a responsability to help China, because it is we in the West that fucked China up in the first place.
Before the British came in, China had a better record of good government possibly than any country in the world does today, even in the European Union and America.
We broke China.
We have a responsability to fix China.
And if we don't fix China, the least we can do is not stand in their way.
God loves you! We'll get through this! A bright light is ahead for China and us all!
