Jim Henson was such a special talent, as much as a performer as anything. Many of my favorite Muppet performances are of Jim Henson as Kermit the Frog, Ernie, or Rowlf the Dog.
I was just thinking of how lucky we are to have someone able to take over Kermit and Ernie, with Gonzo and Rowlf probably my favorite Muppet characters, and do such a wonderful job with them as Steve Whitmire has.
I think Steve Whitmire was put on this Earth to make sure that The Muppets did not die with Jim Henson. Because with no Kermit, there is no Muppets. And a lot of the best Sesame Street stuff since Jim Henson's death has been with Steve Whitmire's Ernie.
Thank you, Steve Whitmire. And thank you, Jim Henson, wherever you are.
