My Tribute to Sly Stone and the Dream of Harmony between the Races

He called his group a Family. It contained men and women, blacks and whites. Al coming together in the name of Love and good music.

His name was Sly Stone, and the group, Sly and the Family Stone.

I have elsewhere said that sonically they were not a San Francisco band.

No. Sonically they were blood brothers to The Beatles. Sonically they were counterparts to The Beatles, only Soul.

But in their lyrics, in their message, they were more San Francisco than even The Grateful Dead.

Thank you, Sly Stone.

Thank you for your example. Thank you for your message.

And thank you for the music.

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson
