Three of these Things Belong Together

What do Thriller by Michael Jackson

Many of the songs and music of Sesame Street

The hits of Leslie Gore in the mid-60's

And Fanfare for the Common Man all have in common?

Nadia Boulanger.

All of these works were at least partly by students of the great Nadia Boulanger, perhaps the greatest music teacher in history.

Joe Raposo, the great Sesame Street songwriter, composer of Sing, the Sesame Street theme song, It Ain't Easy Being Green and many other classics,

Quincy Jones, who produced and arranged both the Michael Jackson albums of the 80's and the hits of Leslie Gore in the mid 60's

And Aaron Copland, who wrote, among other great works, Fanfare for the Common Man, one of the greatest pieces of classical music in all history

Were all Nadia Boulanger's students.

And many others.

Wow!

God loves you!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson

P.S. The 'Three of these Things' song was Jeff Moss, not Joe Raposo. It was based on Joe Raposo's 'One of these Things' song, though! (And so Joe Raposo got writing credit, of course, at least on Muppet Wiki! And Joe Raposo probably did the arrangement as well, since he was the main arranger on Sesame Street.)
