But remember, you started with nothing as a country, before the great slave revolt that founded the country.
You have a lot more than nothing now.
Think of every church in the north of the country which is still standing.
Think of all the cultural traditions of your country.
Think of all the beautiful churches your country built, despite poverty, since gaining independence.
You started out with nothing. You built churches such as the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Hinche, which still stands. You created cultural traditions, traditions of music and painting.
You aren't starting out with nothing now!
Think of what you will build, what you will accomplish, in the next hundred years, when unlike in 1804, you have a lot more than just nothing!
