(First of all, I would like to thank Stevie Wonder and Coolio for the original, which I have drawn from before!)
As I walk through the valley in the shadow of death
I take a look at my life and realize there's nothing left
A dead-end job and a place in the hood
Where the neighbors yell and there's more crime than there should
But I close my eyes and in my mind I see
Birds and rainbows and towering green trees
I say hi to the neighbor and pretend it's okay
And she's grateful for my hi at the end of the day
When the stress gets real bad I sit and meditate
And the cosmos opens up like a serene outer space
And when I fear that my stuff will get stolen
I look at the birds in the air and I see that they have nothing
I've been living half of my life living in a Buddhist paradise
Used to have stress in my life living in a Buddhist paradise
Now I dream dreams and let things slide living in a Buddhist paradise
Maybe I can make this neighborhood more light living in a Buddhist paradise
Let's all live in a Buddhist paradise! (or Sufi paradise, or Taoist paradise, wherever you find peace of mind! Jesus paradise is just fine!)
God loves you!
Sincerely,
David S. Annderson
P.S. I thank Stevie Wonder and Coolio for the original and I apologize if I have not thanked Coolio properly in my other parodies of this song
As this is my first parody of this song that is a direct response to Coolio's, I hope this is an appropriate place to make up for any lack in thanking him in my past parodies of this song!
