Prudence is like a machine

Spock once said in Star Trek that machines are great servants but terrible masters.

Prudence is like that: it is a great servant but a terrible master. Prudence helps us prepare for things and be good at taking care of things. But if we limit ourselves to what is prudent, than we accomplish nothing. There is no life, no higher purpose to guide us, no imagination or creativity. Prudence is a great servant but a terrible master.
