1Z-3: T. Rexes in America

Here in America we know our dinosaurs.

There are two types. Herbivores and carnivores.

The good guys and the bad guys.

The good guy plant-eaters, who peacefully eat leaves all day and don't hurt anyone.

And the bad guys.

The T. Rexes.

The meat eaters.

The bad guys who eat their neighbors.

And yet, in America we have chosen to be T. Rexes.

Look, there are plenty of vegetarians in America.

But we are not bears.

We are a social species.

And there isn't exactly a Tofu R Us on every street corner here in America.

I am not talking about our choices as individuals.

I am talking about our choice as a community.

In India you can find good high-protein vegetarian food everywhere.

In America?

Most of us don't even know that there is an alternative to beans.

Most of us don't even know that there is an alternative to beans!

To eating vast amounts of beans, getting gas, and getting a stomach ache!

Most of us don't even know that Tofu doesn't cause gas!

That peas and lentils are good sources of plant-based protein that don't cause gas!

That pea soup and lentil soup are a good source of protein!

And where do you buy it?

Where do you eat out with your friends for a good bowl of pea soup?

For a reasonable price?

There isn't exactly a Tofu R Us on every street corner!

And when there is, it costs more!

Plant-based protein should cost less, not more!

We are eating cattle feed, rather than eating the cattle!

It should cost a lot less!

It should not cost more!

As a human community, America is punishing vegetarians!

We are not bears!

We are a social species!

We are supposed to be helping each other!

And as a community, in America we have chosen to be T. Rexes!

And punish those who choose otherwise!

We need to make a better choice!

As a community!

For we are not bears!

We are supposed to be a family!

And family does not punish family for making the right choice!

God loves you!

But God wants you to help each other!

God wants you to be supportive!

But God loves you!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson

P.S. I live in California. Even in California, it's not exactly India or Egypt or Turkey. There isn't exactly a Tofu R Us on every street corner in California like there is in Cairo. (More likely a Lentil Soup R Us in Cairo!) And how bout pizza with tofu sausages for toppings! Not everyone likes veggie pizza!
