Behind Blue Eyes

"Meet the new boss Same as the old boss"

The Who utter that line at the end of 'Won't get fooled again". On the album it follows the song 'Behind Blue Eyes".

The line is referring to the character from 'Behind Blue Eyes".

The old boss who wanted to be a good guy but who was forced to be the bad guy by the bad system.

He gets to be the new boss and be the good guy.

That's what 'Meet the new boss Same as the old boss' means.

And it works that way in real life.

By Pete Townshend's day the Germans, who were the bad guys in WWII, were now the good guys in NATO. And the people in the corrupt parts of the system in America got to go on to be the Jimmy Carters and George Bush Sr.s of the new era. They got to be the good guys, and bring the war in Vietnam to an end, and stand for peace, because that's what the people in the American system really wanted all along.

"Meet the new boss Same as the old boss"

We just have to be willing to show them the way!

God loves you!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson
