Animated movies: I like to take the time to do it right

Our filmmakers have a really good track record with animated movies. I mean, there are a lot of great animated movies.

Disney Renaissance movies, anime movies, Don Bluth movies like An American Tail and The Secret of NIMH, Pixar movies, Dreamworks movies, Illumination entertainment movies....

Now, there are a lot of good live-action movies.

There are also a lot of mediocre live-action movies.

There are a lot of bad live-action movies.

There are not a lot of bad animated movies. There are not that many mediocre animated movies. Most animated movies are at least really good for their intended audience.

Our filmmakers have a really good track record with animated movies.

I believe there's a reason for this.

It takes time to make an animated movie.

You have to draw every frame separately. Or input every motion separately, down to great detail.

It takes time to make an animated movie. It takes 2 or 3 years to make an animated movie. You can make a live-action movie in 6 months.

The process of animation forces you to slow down and take your time to do it right.

And it shows. There are a lot of really good animated movies. And a lot of animated movies that are at least really good for their intended audience.

Mister Rogers said in one of his songs, "I like to take the time to do it right."

He's right. When you take your time, you can do something really well.

Like Pixar. And the people who do anime. And Don Bluth.

Let's take the time to do it right! After all, we would like to be as good as Pixar, right?

God loves you!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson
