That's why we can still admire him as a person, not just a Footballer. He's had it hard. He hasen't always known how to fix the problems in his life. But Diego Maradona has overcome poverty and drug problems anyway, and somehow never let these problems consume him. And he never let himself hurt others in the way he has hurt himself. Which is why we can still admire the kind of person he's been and still is. We all make mistakes- people like Diego Maradona show us that we can make it anyway, and be good and pure anyway.
