Disney's Dumbo is Not racist!
First of all, what makes anyone think that the crows from Disney's Dumbo makes Blacks look worse than Rap music does?
I think much more highly of the crows in Disney's Dumbo than any angry rap music person! It's angry rap music that makes Blacks look bad!
I hate this nightmarish idea that it's racist to depict someone as happy and friendly but it's good to depict that same person as angry and hostile!
This is what drives racism, not things like the crows from Dumbo!
But the crows in Disney's Dumbo are literally the only people in the entire movie who have sympathy for Dumbo before he becomes famous- save only for Timothy the mouse and Dumbo's own mother!
The crows are among the most virtuous people in the entire movie!
If anything, the movie is anti-racist, and one of the great early Hollywood examples of sympathetic Black heroes!
And if anything proves that the movie is anti-racist, it is that the roustabouts in the Song of the Roustabouts scene are supposed to be Black!
For that scene, perhaps the greatest thing Walt Disney did in animation, is the greatest piece of artwork I know that celebrates the common working man!
The roustabouts in that scene are epic heroes!
And so I cry: bring back this wonderful movie!
Bring back one of the great examples of sympathetic Black heroes in early cinema!
God loves you!
Hope Google doesn't take this one down like they did my last defense of Dumbo!
Think for yourself for I won't be there for you!
Sincerely,
David S. Annderson
