An Observation: Our Mood and Heavy Metal

When you are hypersensitive like I am, sometimes you observe interesting things.

Today, for reasons that do not matter right now, I was feeling both stressed and especially sensitive.  I was on Youtube, watching a video about The Beatles, and Helter Skelter came up.

I thought I might try and purge myself of the stress through Helter Skelter, arguably the very first heavy metal song.

Almost the moment I put on the song, I very clearly felt much better.  So much of the stress was gone.

However, soon after the song stopped, my mood swung the other way.  The stress got worse briefly before returning to normal

I am not passing judgement on heavy metal.  I am merely making an observation.  Sometimes the immediate relief might be just what you need to snap out of a bad mood, and the reaction the other way will not matter so much.

That is up to you to judge.  You know yourself.

I am merely making an observation, both out of curiosity and so that it might help people feel better.

Heavy metal does very much purge you of the pain.  The reaction that follows was smaller.  Sometimes, for some people, this might be manna from heaven.  Where mood is concerned, different people with different brains react very differently.  Your mind is connected to your body through the brain, and everyone's is different.

I also thought that this was also a fascinating insight!  Science on heavy metal!      (Hard rap probably works the same way!)

God loves you!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson

P.S. Helter Skelter is about a roller coaster ride!  Look it up!
