About Tesla's reliability issues (or Appreciating Tesla's Brilliance)

Tesla is developing an entirely new technology. A difficult new technology. Now, I'm not an engineering expert, but I'm surprised that they have succeeded in developing an electric car with decent range at all. I never thought I would see the day.

Electricity is hard to store. Not that long ago we simply did not have the battery technology to store up enough electricity to make an electric car practical. You would have enough range to get halfway across town maybe. And then you would be out of fuel. Stranded. Taking the bus home. We simply did not have the battery technology to store up enough electricity.

Tesla is developing that new battery technology.

Yup- no one had that technology before Tesla did.

Batteries store a lot of energy. Energy stored up in harsh chemicals. The greater the energy stored, the harsher the chemicals. Energy that can catch fire.

That's the daring new technology- storing up all that energy.

It takes time to figure out how to get a new technology working reliably. I'm amazed that Tesla has a workable, practical product this soon, this early in the development of the new battery technology. It's an amazing success.

Tesla is the first car of a whole new technology. I'd bet that it is far more reliable than the first models of gas-powered cars made available to the public 130 years or more ago!

Hell, I'd bet a Tesla is more reliable than a Model T even! And we had a good 20 years to perfect the technology by that time!

Honestly, as a person who loves science, I am geeking out over how brilliantly Tesla has developed this daring new technology! As far as I am concerned, Tesla is legendary!

This is a new technology. When a new technology is developed, at first it is less reliable, simply because we have less experience with the technology. When NASA was developing rocket technology, the rockets often blew up on the test launch pad. Including the Thor rocket. At first, the Thor blew up on the pad over and over.

The Thor became the first stage of the Delta rocket- perhaps the most reliable rocket ever launched.

The Tesla has progressed from the test-pad stage. It just hasen't yet reached the Delta stage, the stage of the legendary perfected product whose technology is fully mature and whose reputation for reliability, like the Delta, is legendary. The Tesla hasen't reached that stage yet (this is 2022). But it soon will.

Soon the Tesla will be a fully perfected technology, its daring new battery technology something we will take for granted, as reliable as our smartphones. Soon. It hasen't gotten there yet (or at least a few years ago it haden't gotten there yet). But it will. Soon.

Hell, we even have mainstream auto companies making electric cars now! That would have never happened without Tesla.

Soon the Tesla will be as reliable as a well-made personal computer or smartphone.

We just need to give it time.

And that new technology will save the world. Because we will eventually run out of oil. And we want to get off oil while we still have plenty of oil to make things like plastic out of. And we will need a car that does not run on oil.

That new technology will save the world!

Along with solar panel technology, which was perfected long ago. All we are doing with solar panels is bringing the cost down.

We just need to give it time.

God loves you!

Sincerely,
