Many early people performed animal sacrifice.
But they didn't kill animals to dedicate them to their gods.
These were the animals they ate for meat!
Yes!
That's what animal sacrifice was in the old days among people like the Greeks!
When they killed an animal for its meat, they dedicated the animal to the gods!
They weren't killing animals for their gods!
No!
They were killing animals to eat, just like we do!
Only they believed that they only had a right to kill an animal for its meat if they dedicated the animal to the Gods as a sacrifice!
Among Muslims and other Judeo-Christians, they would pray for the animal!
That's what animal sacrifice was among people like the Greeks!
They were dedicating the animals that they slaughtered for meat to eat to God!
We should start doing the same today- to at least pray for every animal we slaughter for meat!
If we do not give up meat, at least we can pray for the animals like the ancient Hebrews did!
We need to get back to things like that!
We need to get back to respecting the sacredness of all the living world around us!
Starting with animals and plants and each other!
