It is mid-January 2023, and I have a message to Joe Biden and Democrats as a moderate Liberal who voted for them:
Please, agree to concessions with Republicans over the debt ceiling so we can begin to talk it out!
We need to learn once again how to talk things out in Washington, DC again!
And we cannot talk things out if one side or the other doesn't agree to consider concessions to the other side!
Someone needs to make the first move!
So many of us voted for you, Biden, because we believed that you could build bridges!
I know that this is hard!
Politics in the past 21 years has been very, very painful!
But someone has to begin talks!
And that someone should be a Democrat, because right now the Democrats are less scared and hurt than the Republicans!
Please, Biden, Democrats, agree to concessions to Republican demands so that we can begin to learn how to talk things out!
These are not our enemy!
These are scared and hurt people who have agreed to take part in the legal democratic process rather than resort to force!
We need to learn to talk things out with people with different views from us!
Because that is the only way Democracy can work!
God loves you! We need this so badly right now!
God loves you, on both sides!
