I was just watching a Youtube reaction to one of my favorite movies that I loved as a kid, Don Bluth's The Secret of NIMH. This is a great serious movie, certainly not just for kids.
The Secret of NIMH is a movie I got far more out of when I watched it again as an adult.
All of my favorite movies as a kid are not just for kids, movies that one would get more out of as an adult.
The best stories for kids are often the same stories that were written mainly for adults!
This works the other way around, too!
I had just come from the Youtube reaction video, with The Secret of NIMH in my head, when I started singing the Christmas pop song 'It's a marshmallow world'
When I realized that it works the other way around too!
The silly innocent fun of 'It's a marshmallow world' was written by adults, in no small part for adults!
Just like serious adult stories like The Secret of NIMH are often the best stories for children, silly childlike innocent fun is as good for adults as it is for kids!
'It's a marshmallow world' was written by adults for adults!
So was the movie 'Elf', and so was the classic silliness of classic Saturday Night Live skits!
Silliness is just as much for adults as for kids!
