The Space Program: Spending On The Have-Nots

In 1971 Marvin Gaye (who I LOVE!) wrote in one of his songs 'rockets moon shots spend it on the have nots'

What he didn't know- what even us space nerds mostly don't know...

we were.

The Apollo program employed a million people at its peak.

In fact, if there was a recession in 1971 it was because we were no longer spending as much on Apollo as we were back in 1965 when we were developing the Saturn V rocket.

You see, when we really needed it- when we really needed all that money and those million people- was not when we were actually landing people on the Moon, but when we were trying to get the Saturn V rocket to work right back in 1965- That was when Apollo employed a million people!

Apollo employed a million people at its peak!

So go, tell the word- there is no better way to spend on the 'Have Nots' than to spend money on the space program!

Because the space program means good jobs!

In fact the only reason that I realized that- the only reason that I thought of it from the right point of view- was that line in Marvin Gaye!

Go spread the word!

Spending on the space program means good jobs!

Sincerely,
