Oh, Manfred Mann... back in the 60's, Louis Louis was a huge hit because people could not make out the lyrics, kept requesting it so that they could try to make out the words, and so many people swore that it was obscene that the song was even investigated by the FBI!
Manfred Mann was clearly hoping for lightning to strike twice with Blinded by the Light, and boy did it!
I looked up Blinded by the Light Misheard lyrics, having heard the Springsteen original and knowing what I heard was not his words, and found to my surprise that everyone was talking about the 'wrapped up like a douche, another woman in the night' line!
I know that line well, but the one that always stood out to me was the one where he appears to sing 'little girly wirly gave my anus curly whirly and asked me if I needed a ride'
After all, not only is it one of the few lines that seems to make sense, but it is just laughably obscene!
I swear that this line is why my Dad does not like this song!
Bruce does not sing anything like it! Bruce sings 'little girly wirly drove up in her curly whirly and asked me if I needed a ride'
And apparently Manfred Mann was trying to sing the exact same line, only with 'drove up in his' instead of her, but that sure is not what came out!
I would never have guessed that was what he was trying to sing, for after all, how can a little girly wirly be a he?

On the other hand, I'm sure this kind of thing was exactly what Manfred Mann was hoping for, and I'm sure it helped make his version a hit!
Given what I heard in the lyrics, I should have been wondering all through my childhood how it made it on the air in the 1970's!
