Music like Candy, Words like Plato and Confucius

There was once a time when such songs were written.
When songs were written whose music was ear candy, but whose words were philosophy.
Deep words, disguised to sound like ear candy.
Where popular songs said things like
'My loneliness is killing me but I still believe'
and
'Show me the meaning of being lonely'
Where one song declared and asked,
'Do you believe in life after love?'
Where one song put into words, straightforward, the principle of love and forgiveness:
'I don't care what you did as long as you love me'
As long as you are kind and show love right now. That is the forgiveness of Jesus.
Where another song showed us how we as a suffering world might find healing:
'I don't understand why we can't be lovers. Things are getting out of hand, trying too hard, but we can win. Let it go! If you love me, please, let me know!
'Don't misunderstand what I'm trying to tell you. In the corner of my mind, I feel like we're running out of time. Let it go! If you love me please let me know!'
Finally, there is the words of Beyonce and Destiny's Child's Survivor.
'I'm a survivor I'm not going to give up I'm not going to stop I'm going to work harder'
'Wishing you the best pray that you are blessed, no stress and lots of happiness... I'm not going to diss you on the Internet, cause my mama taught me better than that'
This is just a sampling.
A thousand years from now great sages will be teaching wisdom out of those words of Beyonce alongside the words of Plato.
This is the age of pop in the late 90's. The age of music like ear candy and words of deep philosophy.
