I Found My Calling in Life: Kindness

'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life' John 3:16

'Won't you be my neighbor?'- Fred Rogers

I want to be like that.  I want to be like the God who so loved the world that he was willing to sacrifice a very part of himself for us.

I want to be your neighbor.

I do not find my calling in Jesus in the conventional way.

I do not find my calling in social causes.  I find my calling in a deeper social cause.

Kindness.

If I have ever failed at kindness, it is for being weak.

I cannot always be strong.  I am only human.

But I damn well will give you my best effort to be kind.

This is my calling.

This is the Jesus I know.

This is the Krishna I know, the Rama I know.

The Allah I know.

The Allah of Kindness.

And I am sending forth a call out there for all others who wish to follow this calling with me.

It may not always be easy, but it will being you deep healing and comfort, and great joy in a deep, quiet way.

It will be fulfilling.

And it will save the world.

For this is what the world needs right now: kindness.

Not discipline.

Not toughness.

Definitely not fear or guilt.

Kindness.

It is kindness that will heal the world.

And with your help, kindness will heal the world that much quicker.

It might sometimes be hard.

But it will bring you healing too, and comfort.

Not just small, superficial healing.

It will bring you deep healing, deeper than you knew you could be healed.

It will bring you joy, and it will bring others joy.

Who's in with me?

Let's make kindness our cause.

Let's fail at kindness only when we are weak, and then know that it is okay to be weak sometimes.

Let's make kindness our cause.

God loves you!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson
