The Kind-hearted Catholic Church

September 18, 2014

As a non-Catholic I grew up with the popular stereotype of the Catholic Church- that of a strict church that forces guilt from us. I now know this is wrong.

VERY wrong.

I have learned what my friend Sarah and two of my favorite authors- T S Eliot and J R R Tolkien- learned from their experiences with the Catholic Church and its teachings.

That is Love, Kindness and Friendship of the most profound and moving type- the Love and Kindness and Friendship of God, and all the good that can come of us following His Ways of Love, that He loves us even though we makes mistakes, that He would suffer and die for us and asks for nothing in return- except that we try to be kind- and that we , despite our mistakes, can be like Him if we follow His ways- but that we will never have to suffer for Him as He did for us.

And, of course, He will carry us through our hard times.

THIS is the true way of the Catholic Church- like many Churches and other Religions, they teach the ways of Kindness, Friendship and Love beyond our imagining.

I have always believed in all major religions- but to learn the true depth to which they teach the ways of Love... it has been a very moving experience.

I guess you can call me a Born-Again Christian, though I never left.

And all those ways of love- they are true. SO true.

And He Loves YOU TOO!!!

No questions asked.

Amen.
