There is no progress, there is only refinement

In modern civilization we are taught to believe in 'progress'.

Of course, we learn as we grow, we continue to learn. So it makes sense that civilization might become more advanced.

But what form does that advancement take?

Scientific revolutions? Technological revolutions?

Those are material things.

It is not the material things that make civilization. It is wisdom.

And in wisdom we learn; but there is no 'progress', there is only refinement.

Does a technological revolution really improve civilization?

Wisdom is the measure of civilization.

In wisdom there is no 'revolution'. There is only refinement.

There is no progress. There is only refinement.

And this material brute force of our technology makes it harder to reach refinement.

Advanced technology is fine, but it does not bring wisdom. And if it is followed with brute force, rather than refinement, it will make it harder to reach refinement and wisdom.

We need to abandon progress and accept wisdom instead.

In wisdom there is no progress. There is only refinement.

And material brute force makes it hard to reach that refinement.

Spread the word!

God loves you!

Sincerely,
