Some of the drugs that they give to treat the hyperactivity in ADHD have bad side effects, like increasing anxiety. I am on the Autism spectrum, and I can tell you that they should not be giving anything that increases anxiety to anyone on the Autism spectrum. Not if you want them to live a happy life.
But why should you be treating your ADHD? It's your superpower!
It motivates you, it makes you a natural doer, a natural performer!
Don't 'treat' that, that's like trying to make your super strength go away!
Only it's not super strength! It's super speed! Almost literally!
I have a friend who has ADHD, and he is just a child now, but I just know that he will do amazing things when he grows up, for he is so smart and so active!
This is your superpower! Don't 'treat' it and make it go away!
Let them treat the autism in your ADHD, the ADD- mildly- if they think it's appropriate- but don't let them treat the hyperactivity!
It is such an unnatural thing to suppress the hyperactivity, it really is such a bad idea- and this is your superpower!
Don't 'treat' the hyperactivity and make it go away!
Use it! Find a natural channel for it!
Find something to do with it!
Be a rock singer, be a dancer, be a stand-up comedian!
Build things! Do something with it! This is your superpower!
Don't 'treat' it and make it go away! This is your gift! This is your superpower!
God loves you!
Sincerely,
David S. Annderson
