I see all kinds of advertisements for weight-loss medicine.
And I can't help but think that what a lot of people who want to lose weight really need is something like a life coach.
A weight-loss coach.
Someone to help them develop what is most important in weight loss, which is self-control, and help you figure out why your self-control keeps failing.
Because every person is different, and our bodies don't want to lose weight, because our bodies think that we might run out of food and starve.
But every person is different, and a lot of what relates to weight loss is in our mind.
Because the reasons that our self-control fails are in our mind.
And if there is one thing I have learned about our minds, it is that you make yourself much stronger if you help your mind be strong.
Don't just bull through things.
Help make your mind stronger, help make things easier for your mind.
Especially something that goes so against our body's instincts as weight loss.
And this is where a weight-loss coach, part coach part psychiatrist, could help.
To help us make our minds strong.
And to do that, you need to understand yourself.
And everybody is different.
One person might stress-eat when work gets hard.
For another, they just push themselves too hard and tire out, and then relapse.
Everyone's different.
In anything, not just in weight loss, it helps to know your own mind, and to know how to help your mind be strong.
But how much more would it help in something that so goes against our body's instincts?
Just an idea I had while listening to weight-loss drug commercials on Youtube!
Helping your mind be strong can help at anything!
God loves you!
Sincerely,
David S. Annderson
