Jumanji: The Magic of Teamwork

I saw 1995's Jumanji when I was young.  If I had heard that they were making a remake of this movie- without Robin Williams- I probably dismissed it.  But I wasn't following pop culture that much in 2017.     Then I had an opportunity to watch the 2017 Jumanji movie when it happened to be on television.

And it was magical.

Now, this was not a deep movie by any means.    But it must be one of the best pure fun movies I have ever seen.

All through two things- an idea for remaking the movie in a completely new and original way

And the power of teamwork.

For this movie had a group of talented superstar actors for its cast.

And in a rare and precious instance, The Rock, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillian put aside their egos to become the kind of magical ensemble that made shows like Friends so beloved back in the day.  Only in adventure as well as comedy.

This movie was so much fun to watch.  It is amazing what talented people can do when they put their egos aside and work as a team.

In a world of hype and big media stars screaming on television, it is so great to see a great ensemble like this.

The Beatles managed to be an ensemble because they first became famous as an ensemble.

Crosby, Stills, and Nash had that one magical moment as a true ensemble before the moment passed.

But these stars put aside their egos to recapture the kind of magic that usually only happens when a movie star is first emerging.

The magic of teamwork.

God loves you!  Enjoy your movies, both fun and serious!

Sincerely,

David S. Annderson
