Members of American Congress are protesting that the leader of a great nation is stooping to meet with the leader of a country whose leader was recently responsible for a serious decline in democracy in their nation.
And they're absolutely fucking right.
But Modi is still willing to meet with the President of America anyway.
And so I think that we can give him due respect and kindness
For in case you missed it, it is America's President that, having lost reelection, just two years ago sent his personal mob to overthrow the American government!
India's Democracy is much more stable than America's right now!
When was the last time a politician in India tried to overthrow the legitamate government?
Oh, yes- the 19th Century, and the politician was British!
The kind of things Modi is controversial for are little things!
Ordinary this is life in a real world Democracy things!
The kind of things that have been happening in American Democracy for 200 years!
The kind of things that Tammany Hall was known for in the old days- but far milder than the version Tammany Hall was using, like a kiddie game by comparison!
He is not responsible for sending a mob to try to overthrow his government!
It is 2023, and if America's Democracy did not fall, India's Democracy is super-safe by comparison!
