Key Events

There are three key events that led to the creation of the Fourteen Points; World War 1, Woodrow's decision to keep the U.S. neutral, and the Americas involvement and victory in World War 1. When the WWI started that was a major turning point for the world itself especially Europe, and it devastated it. Then Woodrow's decision to stay out of the war and keep the U.S. free from the chaos running rampant in Europe, was America taking another step closer toward the development of the peace offering. Finally America's involvement in the war and helping the Allies win was the last stepping stone, as the U.S. came out on top. With that victory Wilson felt that so there would be no more worldwide wars that there should be a treaty that would keep the peace flowing and the wars away.
