How It Affected the United States

Woodrow Wilson was the 28th president of the United States of America. He was in office from 1913 to 1927 and a Democrat. He had two terms and "He kept us out of war." was his slogan. Wilson was the main leader during WWI that didn't want to fight. Eventually, Congress declared war on April 2, 1917 after he requested it. He came up with the League of Nations which the United States did not become a part of due to the Senate not passing it. Woodrow Wilson traveled throughout the United States to get support for his idea, but had to stop due to overworking himself. He then had a stroke and became ill in general. Wilson's ambitions to make the League of Nations part of the Treaty of Versailles got him the 1919 Nobel Peace Prize in 1920.
