The Philippine-American War was a war between the Filipinos and the Americans in the year of 1898. This war was basically a continuation of the Philippine Revolution over the Spaniards. The war began with shooting on the outskirts of Manila on the night of Feb. 4, 1899. The American troops were already in possession of the city and Filipino rebels were controlling the rest of the country, conflict was unavoidable. The United States wanted to gain possession over the Philippine and they would do all in their will to get them even if going to war was the only option for them. A split between the American people over whether the United States foreign policy in the Philippines was justified, successful or neither. They were only gong to do what would be better for the country that in return would benefit the people.
