How It Affected The U.S.

The U.S. gained resources, expanded humanity, expanded the country, and learned to live in certain conditions. But there were negative effects. There were some cultures that were wiped out. The sugar trade started to change the economy. On March 1959, The U.S. government approved statehood for Hawaii, and in June The Hawaiian people voted by a wide majority to accept admittance into the United States. Two months later, Hawaii became the 50th state.
